How to remove unwanted area in Power Apps Model-driven App Dashboard while creating dashboards

While creating dashboards in power apps, we get the option to create 2-column, 3 and 4 column dashboards as shown in the following image.

Let's say we want to create 3-column dashboard. Now when we open the "3-Column overview" dashboard, we get the following template. This dashboard template includes 3 columns and 2 rows of template areas (in total 6).

Now when we select one of the template area we do not get any option to remove the area in the main menu. And, also, we don't get any context menus when we right click on the area.

This in itself doesn't hinder UI in the model-driven app in dashboard.

But there is a way to remove the extra area that gets left if we only wanted to create let's say 2 charts or 3 only out of 6.

Upon selecting any empty area, we don't get any option to remove the area but if the area already includes any chart or view then we get an option to remove the complete area in the main menu.

So, to remove the unwanted area checkout the steps below:

Steps to remove the unwanted area in power apps dashboard

1. Instead of adding any chart or view, we will be adding the assistant in that specific area. Select the empty area that you want to remove.

2. Click on the light bulb shown in the area.

3. Upon clicking the light bulb, the Assistant tab will be added in that area. And in the main menu, remove button will appear.

4. Click on the "remove" button to remove the complete area along with newly added Assistant tab.

Hope this post helps and saves some time.
